Celebrating the 102nd Anniversary of the Apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima

The Occasion

On the 13th of October, the Parishioners along with other faithful came together to commemorate the 102nd Anniversary of the Apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima.

The occasion signifies the apparitions when Our Lady appeared 6 times to 3 children in the small village of Fatima, Portugal. During each visit, the apparition taught and encouraged the children to pray and adore the Lord. Additionally, the apparition told the children that prayer would end World War I.

This day also marked the canonization of 5 new saints. Pope Francis declared Cardinal John Henry Newman, Sister Marian Thresia (From Kerala), Sister Giuseppina Vannini, Sister Dulce Lopes Pontes, and Marguerite Bays as Saints.

The Location

The feast mass took place near Regina Mundi, High School below the Monument dedicated to Our Lady Queen of the World. The Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Mariano Director, Diocesan Bible Centre, Fr. Bolmax, Fr. Edwin, and Fr. Arogya.

The Message

A family needs to pray the rosary every day and make time for God.

Driving home the message of the feast, Fr. Mariano requested the parishioners to pray the Rosary every day with their families.

He gave an example of how his mother would pray the Rosary on her own despite being alone.

The mass was followed by a lantern procession around the school ground and culminated with a final blessing of Our Lady of Fatima.
