Go and do Likewise : Mormugao celebrates Deanery Youth Day 2019

The Mormugao Deanery Youth Day was celebrated on 15th September, 2019 at St. Philip and James Church, Cortalim, Goa.
Mormugao Deanery Youth Day is an annual grand youth gathering from all the parishes from Mormugao. It is a whole day event which aims to develop the experience of faith, service and camaraderie among the youth.
Enthusiastic youth from the various parishes including Vasco-da-Gama, Baina, Cortalim, Bogmalo, Sancoale, São Jacinto Island, Desterro, Mormugao and Chicalim participated in the day-long programme.

The theme chosen to mark this special occasion was “Voch Ani Tum-Vi Toxench Kor / Go and do likewise”, taken from the book of Luke 10:37.
The day’s programme began with the inaugural and was followed by various activities during the course of the day and was ably compered by the host on the day Ausfin Dias.
This was followed by a highly informative talk on First Aid by Sister Monica. Several important life-saving tactics were taught during this session was followed by the Holy Eucharist.

Post lunch Dr. Sabina enlightened us on winemaking using a simple process.
Towards the end, we had games along with prize distribution to the winners of various competitions and games. A token of appreciation was presented to all the participating youths.
