Konsachem Fest
By Nathaniel Nunes
Harvest Festival, more popularly known as Konsachem Fest was celebrated in our parish on 24th August, 2019. It derives its name after the sheaves of paddy, are cut in the field, by the local parish priest.

Before the festive Mass, a procession consisting of the parishioners, Confraria, and the Parish priest Fr. Bolmax made their way to the field to the tune of the brass band. Fr. Bolmax blessed the harvest and then cut the first sheaves of paddy, with a silver sickle. Thereafter, the procession then made their way back to the church to attend the Feast Mass. During the homily, Fr. Bolmax asked the parishioners to emulate the life of Nathanael, an Israelite in whom there is no deceit. At the end of the mass, the blessed sheaves of paddy were distributed to the parishioners.

Later in the day, a games programme organized by the parish youth in association with our local Chicalim Sports Club was held in the church campus.
The hardworking parish youth organized many fun-filled games such as Tug of War and Narlancho Khell. Going with the natural tradition of Konsachem Fest, there were traditional contests such as Mol Making, creating Unique and longest Patolio.
